SHANNON ELIZABETH MCBANE
Soprano & Multi-hyphenate creative
BIO
"Gorgeous and so talented at literally everything you attempt wow I'm so proud of you" -Shannon's Mom, Patti McBane
Hailing from Hollister, CA, a small community that is kind of in the Bay Area, Shannon Elizabeth McBane is a multi-hyphenate creative who finds joy as a performer of opera, musical theater, stand-up comedy (one time only but stills counts), and improvisation with The Groundlings via Zoom and with local theaters in Austin, TX (where she lives until she moves to Phoenix, AZ for her now FIANCÉ'S job) . Shannon completed her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at Chapman University, and subsequently found herself needing to find herself but most importantly not have to live with her parents ever which means making money (SPOILER: opera is not an ideal career to make money). She started her corporate career in the tech industry in Silicon Valley while continuing vocal studies, and even attempted a move to Vienna, Austria as an au pair in the hopes of: singing in Europe because there are more opportunities? Also travel sounds fun? Soon after that brave and spectacular fail of an experience, she found herself in Arizona at her parents' of all places where she ended up completing Master of Science in Management from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business. In addition to her undergraduate vocal training, Shannon trained in the Emerging Artist program at OperaWorks, the Taos Opera Institute, and has performed professionally in the Opera San Jose chorus in their production of 'Lucia di Lammermoor'. While having pursued her vocal studies at the highest level privately with Augusto Paglialunga and Dr. John Craig Johnson, she maintains a full-time career by day working remotely as a Customer Success Manager at a startup based in Silicon Valley. Previously she held other varied roles in the commercial real estate and tech industries, again while allowing her vocal instrument to develop as she made bank doing corporate gigs.
